TFP Nederland Overview

Transference Focused Psychotherapy (TFP) is een van de richtlijn-erkende psychotherapieën voor mensen met persoonlijkheidsproblematiek waaronder de borderline en narcistische persoonlijkheidsstoornis, maar ook de mildere neurotische persoonlijkheidsorganisatie. Deze vaak intense psychotherapieen zijn gebaseerd op inzichten uit de objectrelatie- en hechtingstheorieën die ervan uitgaan dat beelden van zichzelf en anderen verbonden met diverse emoties gevormd worden binnen vroege relaties met ouders / verzorgers. Als deze beelden wisselend, tegenstrijdig (goed-slecht, zwart wit) en verwarrend zijn, kan de ontwikkeling van een stabiele identiteit stagneren en relaties met anderen negatief beïnvloeden. TFP is een op de overdracht gerichte behandeling waarbij terugkerende patronen zich ook in de therapeutische relatie ontvouwen en in het moment samen kunnen worden onderzocht, begrepen en veranderd. Inmiddels is de oorspronkelijke Transference Focused Psychotherapy* door de Kernberg Group in New York verder ontwikkeld tot TFP Extended*, TFP in klinische settings*, TFP Narcisme*, TFP Adolescents*.
