THAEN” is an initiative that plan to provide an economically, socially and environmentally sustainable solution for Human-Elephant conflict in the tribal hamlet through a revenue generation model. We propose the usage of Beehive Fencing as a natural elephant deterrent and livelihood option. The primary focus is on a participatory approach through community mobilisation. In the short run, our primary goal will be to convince the farmers and affected communities about the effectiveness of the method in mitigating elephants and diversifying incomes. In the long run, we aim to imbibe the practice of eco-friendly measures in mitigation of Human-Elephant conflict and thereby ensuring human and elephants reside side by side in harmony.
