The Big House Multibank

The Big House Multibank company information, Employees & Contact Information

The Big House Multibank provides public benefit in Scotland. The charity is based in Lochgelly in Fife, Scotland. The charity was established in 2024 to redistribute unused donated goods and items from businesses to adults, children, families and communities that are in need for reasons of poverty, poor health, disability, addition or other circumstances. The donated goods come directly from nearly 90 companies across the UK, led by Amazon and part of a UK Wide Multibank initiative. Multibanks is an initiative established by former Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Amazon. Multibanks are Green Banks; not just food banks but also clothes and shoes banks, toiletries and hygiene banks, bedding and home furnishings banks, and baby goods banks. We partner with businesses to donate their surplus goods to families who need them with particular focus on hygiene and other essential goods. We also seek to raise funds to buy essential products. Whilst destitution is doubling, donations to charities are halving. The more we raise, the more Multibanks can be created and sustained. Prior to the set up of this charity it was run as a pilot project called The Big Hoose from 2022 to 2024 by the Cottage Family Centre strategic manager Pauline Buchan and former Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
