THE BOOK CLUB Sofia Overview

THE BOOK CLUB Sofia is the fastest growing literary club in Bulgaria, making an impact since 2018. Back in October 2018 Veronika Stefanova and Daniela Marcheva, led by their love of books, art and culture, decided to create a community of reading people who share their passion for books and the stories they contain, find a safe place to share their ideas in and feel inspiration, and support. Initially, THE BOOK CLUB Sofia was a closed society and only a few members were a part of it. In the beginning of 2020, the founders decided to take the risk to open it to the public and accept members outside of their known circle. As of today, a year and a half later, THE BOOK CLUB Sofia has more than 200 active members, over 5,000 followers on its Instagram profile, has accomplished five social campaigns, took part in one of the biggest literary and publishing events in Bulgaria in 2021, and has started a weekly online rubric. THE BOOK CLUB Sofia aims to make the world of literature more visible, accessible and understandable, and provide positive role models for future generations by celebrating culture, emphasizing its importance, and making it a constant part of every member’s life.
