We’ve built a township-based digital hub called, The Box Shop digital Hub, using container
shipment infrastructure at Vosloorus with the intention to promote digital literacy inorder to
accelerate business growth for the local township economy, whilst maintaining a sustainable
ecosystem that is supported by the infrastructure.
The Box Shop Digital Hub intends to provide resources, training, access to fast uncapped
internet, and technical support to township youth. It will also offer social & professional
networking through which local entrepreneurs can thrive. The output and overall objective is to
create pathways to income opportunities for youth to become economically active in ways that
can build their skills and competencies for ongoing income generation – this may involve
employment, entrepreneurship or a combination of the two.
