The Charity Arts Project: ‘create for good’ Our aim is to create quality products that sell for the benefit of partner charities. All profit generated through sales is then given as a donation to the partner charity. We love the medium of screen printing, and have decided to launch the project by producing 4 pieces of screen-printed art. Each piece is paired with a chosen charity with the aim to raise funds and awareness for that charity through sales of the product. Each piece of art is inspired by a story, and tells that story; whether it be an aspect of the partner charity, the courageous life of someone affected by a brain tumour, doctors battling the disease, or simply wider themes of ʻhopeʼ or ʻbraveryʼ or ʻpersistenceʼ that relate to the raising awareness of brain tumours. Stories produce products that people donʼt just purchase but ʻbuy intoʼ, and this can go a long way to raising awareness and profiles, as well as fundraising. The idea stems from our desire to ʻcreate for charityʼ, to create for good. We want to find synergy between the creative industry and the charity sector; itʼs something we know is already happening. Weʼd love to help develop an environment where creativity and talent are used for the bigger picture.
