The Charles Plater Trust is a Catholic grant-making charity which aims to build social justice across the UK by enabling charities and community interest companies - who are working for the common good of every person - to make an even greater difference.
We believe in making a difference together. The Trust was established in 2006 to continue the work of Fr Charles Plater in developing social justice through education. We provide grants to a wide range of religious and non-religious organisations, people, and groups with the aim of reducing poverty, exclusion and social and economic injustices, empowering people of faith to exercise leadership in their communities, and funding research to improve public policy.
Underpinning our work and mission are the principles of Catholic Social Teaching: the dignity and flourishing of the human person, the importance of the common good, and care for God’s creation.
