"The CookWare Upcycled Rendez-Vous" is an innovative project by "Enactus Hertfordshire" aimed at providing a sustainable and community-driven solution for students at the University of Hertfordshire. Each year, many international students arrive without kitchen equipment and leave behind still-usable items. This project addresses this challenge by organising a collection of household items at the end of the academic year, such as kitchen utensils and duvets, to sell them at reduced prices to new students at the start of the next academic year.
The project unfolds in two phases. The first phase involves raising awareness within the student community about the importance of sustainability and encouraging participation in the collection. The second phase, at the end of the academic year, organises a collection day where students can drop off items they do not wish to take with them. These items are then offered at attractive prices to new students in September.
By reducing waste and promoting the reuse of items, "The CookWare Upcycled Rendez-Vous" contributes to a more sustainable consumption pattern and provides an economical solution for students. This project embodies the values of social and environmental responsibility promoted by "Enactus Hertfordshire".
