For an energy industry entrenched with established utilities, government-approved monopolies, and prohibitively expensive infrastructure projects, decentralized technology like blockchain offers a promising alternative to project funding - - where individuals and institutions alike could purchase modular ownership of new projects, and then receive dividends based on their owned portion's energy sales and use.
