Low-income students can't afford 95% of traditional colleges. At the same time, alternative forms of education are more accessible and valuable than ever before.
Our mission is to empower students to explore their passions, build skills, and make a sustainable income in a field they’re passionate about. The Friendly Scholars Foundation provides program specific scholarships up to $5,000 for alternative education - think coding bootcamps, trade school, art school, etc.
Students awarded scholarships participate in a Friendly Scholars cohort, where they’ll have access to workshops on resume writing and communication skills, as well as professional mentorship and access to industry connections.
We believe in providing full transparency to our donors - 100% of every donation directly funds a Friendly Scholar's education, and you can meet those Scholars at groopoffriends.com. We pay educational institutions directly, on behalf of each Friendly Scholar. Donating feels much better when you know where your money is going.
