The Gathering 2009 was an International Clan Gathering and Highland Games held in Edinburgh on July 25th & 26th 2009. It was one of the signature events of the Scottish Government's Year of the Homecoming. The event took 3 years to organise and cost £2.3 million. It was a private company initiative with Public Funding. It generated over £10.5 million into the Scottish economy.
