The Gender Breakfast is a network for those working to advance gender equality, women’s rights, and gender justice issues, based out of the San Francisco Bay Area. We are a diverse group of 100+ professionals, including policy makers, philanthropists, non profit workers, advocates, researchers, strategic advisors, and journalists. Our members who work globally, nationally, and in our own community here in the Bay.
We meet once a month for an hour and a half. Each meeting includes dedicated time for catching up, followed by a discussion on a specific topic. Topics are wide ranging and include new and emerging themes in gender equality. All conversations are held strictly in our personal capacity and all breakfasts follow the Chatham House rule. In addition to building their capacity and and finding a community of practice, participants have used the breakfasts as a platform to begin collaborations, both online through our closed LinkedIn group and offline. It was founded and led by Lucina Di Meco and Shruthi Jayaram.
