The Good Athlete Project is an international education consulting foundation (501c3). We are on a mission to empower youth and future leaders through athletics.
Athletics serve as the most powerful educational platform that exists. When done well, sports have the potential to teach character and life lessons that serve its participants well after their careers have ended. That said, not all coaches recognize its potential, leaving the platform mis- and underused. In those cases, issues of unhealthy and destructive mindsets erupt, promoting behavior that has stigmatized athletes and athletics.
That's where our work begins. Through Professional Development and team-based workshops, we are enhancing athletics as an educational platform from the inside out. Make no mistake, this is not soft coaching. We acknowledge winners and losers, highlighting failure and time under tension as opportunities for growth. And while we acknowledge the value of preparing to win, as coaches, it is essential that we use that motivation to accomplish other, bigger, more lasting successes.
