The Good Samaritan Charity Initiative is a voluntary non-governmental and non-profit organization founded in 2007. It is the charity arm of The Canaan Group. It is duly registered as an Incorporated Trusteeship under Part C of the Companies and Allied Matters Act, 1990, to aid indigent paediatric patients in several health institutions in Nigeria.
The Charity is established to give hope to the less privilege children who do not have access to quality medical care. It aims to build a credible future for Africa by ensuring every child has access to good health care services.
WHAT WE DO
• Medicare for Indigent Children: Our approach is to specially design boxes and place them in specific Children’s hospitals filled with the most essential paediatric drugs and medications. A revolving financial arrangement is also put in place to be disbursed in instances where the prescribed medication is not readily available. We seek to find ways and means of coming to the aid of indigent children and women to the extent of our ability as a token of our contribution to the wellbeing of our future leaders and also to the benefit of mankind
• Establishment of Cottage Paediatric Centres: The Good Samaritan Charity Initiative has its long term objective of planting cottages in hospitals in chosen communities across Nigeria, especially in areas where there is an obvious lack of medical facilities. To this extent, we have developed a prototype of such cottage hospital as shown below.
• Financial aid for Students: We assist students who have proven a track record of excellence in their studies but do not have the financial assistance to further their education
• CARE FOR OLD PEOPLE, WIDOWS AND ORPHANS: We give care and aids to widows, orphanages, Old people’s home by providing them with essential care and resources.
