Did you know that most of the green fields that you see as you drive through the countryside are almost completely devoid of wildlife?
Modern farming favours grasslands with just one or two grass species and this is unable to support many birds or animals. However, our ancient wildlife-rich grasslands can have a hundred or more species of flowers and are often alive with butterflies and birds. Recent studies have shown that more than 97% of our wildlife-rich grasslands have disappeared.
