The Ismat Foundation was initially formed with the aim to help young Orphans in Afghanistan, specifically an orphanage in Mazar-I-Sharif with an aim to progress further.
The initiative will benefit 76 young children in a government-run orphanage in Mazar. Our aim is to provide the children with the basic necessities including clothing, equipment and for some we have also provided funding for life-changing surgery.
This project started with an initial spontaneous visit to the orphanage. Upon seeing the conditions, we decided to start a simple fund-raising initiative to provide whatever we could with the amount that was initially donated. The children captured our hearts and we decided that this should be a long-term investment into our country and our children. We did not want to help for a short time and then leave them, this is now an ongoing project and any help or donation, big or small really goes a long way in putting a smile on these childrens faces, for ultimately, that is the biggest gift of all.
Since our initial project, we have provided ongoing support to the orphanages however also get involved in supporting other projects related to displaced families and those living in severe poverty.
