ECS Overview

The Letter Office is a graphic design studio based in New York City. We specialize in thoughtful, comprehensive results for our diverse range of clients. With a special passion for typography and custom lettering, The Letter Office provides unique solutions from identities to publications. You’ll notice we don’t have any particular “house style.” That’s because we approach each new project with fresh consideration, with the understanding that every client has its unique challenges. Small enough to spend the time on the finest of details and experienced enough to tackle large, multi-faceted campaigns, The Letter Office has created quality and timeless pieces for small mom-and-pop shops, large arts institutions and festivals, academic and indie publishers, corporations, and the restaurant industry. Led by graphic designer and typographer Elizabeth Carey Smith, The Letter Office fosters a network of collaborators — including writers, illustrators, photographers, creative thinkers, and creative specialists — to create consistent, strong and engaging messages.
