MARCH Foundation Overview

The MARCH Foundation is a private foundation with 501(c)(3) status, founded with the purpose of supporting the education of African American youth. The foundation’s name, which stands for Mutual Alliance Restoring Community Hope, reflects its mission to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people and their communities. Since its inception in 1997, the MARCH Foundation consistently exceeds its chartered mission by supporting worthwhile ventures that directly or indirectly support its goal of improving education for African American youth. The foundation was created by longtime Plano community business and civic leader Kenneth B. Jarvis and was initially funded by the personal funds of its board members – black male executives who retired from successful careers with United Parcel Service (UPS). Over the past 25 years, the MARCH Foundation distributed over $2 million in grants and scholarships, positively impacting more than 2,000 students. The foundation’s reach extends far beyond its Plano, TX beginnings, and its influence continues to grow. The MARCH Foundation has a long history of supporting programs and projects that align with its mission. From after-school programs to college readiness initiatives to aviation technology, the foundation plays an active, philanthropic role.
