The National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB) is registered under the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources, Rwanda Tea Development Authority, Rwanda Coffee Development Authority and Rwanda Horticulture Development Authority. All three government agencies were merged to form the NAEB.
Our Mission: To facilitate the growth of business and diversify agriculture and livestock commodity export.
Our Vision: To be a world class agriculture and livestock commodity export enterprise through innovation.
Our Responsibilities:
1. Participate in elaboration of policies and strategies to develop exports of agricultural and livestock products.
2. Implement policies and strategies to promote and develop agricultural and livestock products.
3. Identify and support research on agricultural extension for agricultural and livestock products.
4. Collaborate with other institutions to identify locations to install agricultural and livestock processing factories and grant authorization.
5. Set quality standards for agriculture and livestock products, and ensure they are implemented.
6. Issue certifications of origin for agricultural and livestock products provided by relevant laws.
7. Supervise, facilitate, and train private operators and cooperatives involved in agriculture and livestock production
8. Partner and coordinate activities with NGO's, private operators and other organs involved in agricultural and livestock export.
9. Support increased investments in the industry and infrastructure adding value to agricultural and livestock products.
10. Collect information on local, regional and international markets to dissiment to stakeholders.
11. Coordinate activities for stakeholder networks.
12. Participate in international negotiations and trade fairs to promote agricultural and livestock products.
13. Establish good relationships with international organizations to develop agricultural and livestock products for export.
