Since 2008, with the help of many generous donors, The NEO Fund has invested in Nicaragua, one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere. We started in La Chureca (“the Dump”) of Managua and saw a life-giving community called El Faro take shape in the heart of Managua’s slum. With outstanding local leadership and hard work the outreach expanded and now impacts more than two thousand people each week.
We discovered micro-lending to be an excellent compliment to other outreach in the community. Micro-credit dignifies the poor, helps build meaningful relationships and creates long-term community transformation at the grassroots level.
The NEO Fund is a non-profit organization that provides affordable micro-credit to emerging entrepreneurs outside the United States. We are currently exploring an invitation to expand to Port-au-Prince, Haiti for 2014.
