The Peridot Clinic is a psychology clinic based in Newcastle, New South Wales Australia. We are small practice that specialises in holistic and innovative trauma recovery modalities, based on the latest evidence informed treatments. Monica Schweickle is a clinical psychologist and board approved supervisor, she is the Director of Peridot Clinic and can offer clinical placements and supervision.
Or modalities include but are not limited to Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), trauma aware meditation classes, yoga and somatic therapy. We offer EMDR intensives (more frequent, longer sessions over a shorter period of time for accelerated trauma reprocessing) for suitable clients, in person in Newcastle or online.
While our specialty is trauma-focussed therapies, many people engage in psychotherapy to understand themselves better, have a confidential space to resolve unhelpful patterns that no longer serve them, clarify life decisions, or to develop more meaningful connections with others. Some people seek therapy to improve their performance as a leader, or health professional, as well as for self care purposes.
We offer psychological therapy to a range of people including veterans, their families, adult survivors of childhood trauma, individuals navigating life transitions and existential challenges, domestic violence survivors, new parents and parents-to-be.
