To me, it is an individual who finds themselves driven to speak on topics from the perspective of recovery. These topics include personal stories, the process of inner healing, identifying life’s tribulations, and how one has recovered. Typically, a recovery speaker has found a personal calling to recover out loud in hopes to encourage others and break the stigma of those affected by substance use,
mental health, or life’s hardships.
