Robert Charles was registered with the NFA as both a commodity trading advisor and a commodity pool operator on January 17, 2006. Robert Teel is the managing principal of Robert Charles, LLC which is the general partner of Robert Charles & Co., L.P. Mr. Teel started his futures career in 1984 on the floor of the Kansas City Board of Trade in the Value Line Stock Index pit. “We started Robert Charles in 1996 and ran the portfolio up from $6M to $93M at the start of 2000. I have Windows and Intel to thank not only for that fortunate run, but also for putting the computing power on my desk that enables me to run the quantitative futures and futures options trading strategies I had learned over a decade earlier." Mr. Teel achieved average annual returns of over 30% trading futures and futures options for the Robert Charles proprietary accounts from 1996 to 2010 when his partner Charley passed away. After 25 years as a proprietary trader putting its own capital to work trading futures in what everyone knows is a high risk, high reward proposition, Robert Charles is now looking forward to the next 25 years as a CTA where its goal is to achieve the same rewards it has enjoyed over the last two decades while taking the risk out of a high risk business.
