The Service Dog Training Centre is Israel’s first and leading non-profit organization in the field of service dog training and education.
Established in 2017, it has grown to become an international centre for knowledge and education for both professional dog trainers and amateurs alike.
The centre’s activities range from service dog training courses for professionals and volunteers and animal therapy itself to raising awareness of service dogs and their beneficiaries in the public eye.
Animal therapy services include the training and provision of therapy dogs for those suffering from physical disabilities, developmental disabilities, post-traumatic stress disorder, and emotional difficulties, as well as the provision of training courses for those interested in entering into the field as professionals in academic institutions across the country, including universities and colleges such as Weingeit Academic College and professional institutions across the globe, including locations in Italy, Switzerland, Spain, and Argentina.
The centre’s awareness activities consist mainly of lobbying for the rights of service dogs and their users in Knesset and in other governmental and civil organizations, seeking to facilitate both a more comfortable daily experience for service dog users, and to reduce stigmas and misconceptions that are commonly held by the public.
The centre is completely not-for-profit, and is funded only by private donations and by its own activites, such as its courses and its summer camp program.
