During my time working with hundreds of practitioners and experts in the entertainment, wellness creative and beauty fields I noticed a gap in the industry for a development community. There is very little support and advice out there for event-based workers in these fields. They also all have the challenge of running their own microbusinesses and need support in all aspects of their work.
We have always invested in our team helping them to take their skills to the next level and move into event and salon management. Our team have also always commented on how much variety and fun it is working in our events and meeting others in the industry learning from each other and collaborating - lots of firm friendships made! Event experiences can be intense, passionate and are all about creating feelings so very different from private client work.
I wanted to take this a step further and formalise this with a proper training school for event-based workshops and treatments and business skills. Over the last few years we have been taking this up a gear offering advice, mentorships, coaching and free and subsidised training.
This has been particularly crucial during the pandemic helping support the transition into online delivery and keeping morale up amongst hundreds of people that suddenly found themselves without work. We have been investing in their development, running practice events, keeping them advised and up to date on developments and helping them to create brand new content that works in the online space.
I planned on running two training courses in my home country of Ibiza this season which had to be parked due to COVID - a stylist boot camp for hair and festival makeup & a Reiki immersion - we hope to get these backup and running for 21/22 in the meantime we have been running our Reiki courses online a fantastic time to be focusing on the meditation and self-healing & Reiki is a treatment that can be done over zoom remotely. The wonderful magic of virtual!
