The Art Department is a boutique consultancy built on the idea that finely-tuned experiences are shaped by innovative thinking, experimentation, and above all, collaboration. We are creative strategists and strategic creatives: seasoned problem-solvers who remove the layers and overhead of agencies to work directly with your team, learn your audience’s story, and design experiences with impact.
We are a collective of some of Ottawa’s most talented, experienced designers and producers: craftsmen with ten, fifteen, and twenty years under our belts, each with our own unique set of skills, and all sharing in a passion for delivering beautiful, functional, and meaningful products.
Our expertise spans the creative spectrum, from strategy, brand story, IA/UX, and art direction, to graphic design, web, video and motion. We approach creative as both science and art, using accelerated, collaborative problem-solving to balance form and function and help our clients to solve business challenges, reach their audiences, trigger emotions, and move people.
