The Collective is a group of engineers mainly based in Japan and building startups around data (machine learning, data science, data engineering and analytics...and if you are a business person, we can add "AI" here as well).
Our members are between pre-product and pre-funding, and we help each other to validate ideas, do market research, build MVPs and get pre-seed funding.
Most of our members are still employed with other firms, thus until they get to a level where they can become independent, they prefer to be in stealth. Sometimes we might also work together on data related consulting gigs, to help our members bootstrap the initial stages of their product.
