This centralised control over data perpetuates inequality, limiting the ability of marginalised communities to advocate for their needs or influence policy decisions. Without accessible and decentralised data, civil society organizations (CSOs) and grassroots movements are left operating in the dark.
The Datum Initiative is a non-profit company dedicated to addressing structural inequities through data literacy and sustainable database management. By equipping CSOs with the skills to responsibly handle and leverage their information, we aim to empower communities to advocate for their needs, influence policy, and build a more inclusive and transparent society.
