Formed in October 2023, Theiagen Global Health Initiative (TGHI) is an emerging force in global health. Our organization began with personnel at Theiagen Genomics, a company that has revolutionized public health through the implementation of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and bioinformatics. We formed TGHI to address global gaps in access to genomics and other advanced technologies that support modern public health efforts.
As a new initiative, our initial focus at TGHI is aligned with our founders’ expertise in enhancing infectious disease surveillance and outbreak response through pathogen genomics. By leveraging our expertise, we support scientists to make high-quality actionable insights in infectious disease epidemiology, thereby strengthening public health infrastructure and response capabilities. As we grow, we intend to expand the ways we support public health scientists beyond genomics to other advanced technologies.
