Hi and Welcome! My name is Ashleen and I am a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor Candidate (RTC-C) If you are someone who is looking for a counsellor, I want to acknowledge you because it can be a sometimes confusing or overwhelming process to find the right fit for you. I also wanted to acknowledge your courage in reaching our for help, its not easy and take vulnerability but you are not alone and support is available. To tell you a little bit about how I can help, I support individuals in the South Asian and Asian community in their 20s and 30s in 3 main areas; Relationship conflict, Anxiety & Depression and Self Purpose exploration. I myself identify as South Asian and with the struggle of having mental health stigmatized in the South Asian Community, the pressure to follow the “Traditional path” of “go to school, get a good traditional job, get married and have kids” and because of this pressure and lack of support experiencing constant conflict and arguing within my close relationships of parents and partners. From having personal experience and learning how to process and work through these emotions I now support individuals with the same experiences that I struggled with, these 3 mains areas are Breaking free of the traditional path, ways to cope with anxiety and depression and tools to help resolve relationships conflict.
