At 22, I embarked on my first travel out of India- to Sicily, Italy- to share insights into public health of urban India's poor. Providing thought leadership to the platform of World Urban Campaign of UN-Habitat in Palermo, Sicily; I met some of the most renowned professionals and young professionals like myself, working to build 'City we need'- a new urban paradigm adopted by the Campaign.
"It struck to me everyone has a way of thinking, living and perceiving other people or spaces or time across the world. We all move with a baggage of perception tied to our toes, fingers and eyes."
I felt unsettled. At 22, I was looking at the world with a lens I had developed throughout my life, inconsiderate of diverse lenses and perspectives across the world- and I wasn't alone!
The idea for #TheSpatialPerspectives thus emerged in 2014.
The Spatial Perspectives was established in February 2019 by Mahak Agrawal as an independent open media project founded with a mission to change the way we see the world.
