Project for implementing sustainable energy technology in small-scale farming in rural India, with an initial focus on the Karnataka state. The technology introduced is the “Swiss Solar Water Pump”, a unique low cost 80 W photovoltaic water pump system developed by Bern University of Applied Sciences. The main advantages of the Swiss Solar Water Pump are the low price, the local production and service, the small size and flexibility and the long lifetime. The project implementation strategy was to target women groups and networks of female entrepreneurs.
