Opening in 1975, the Walter A. "Slim" Thorpe Recovery Centre was a 2 bed detox centre that began thanks to a collaboration between the Saskatchewan and Alberta governments, local recovery advocates, and the Lloydminster Hospital Board. Today, the organization has grown into a 72-bed facility on the outskirts of Lloydminster AB/SK.
With our mission to be a leading, community-based organization that provides strength, hope, and healing through programming and supports to those affected by addiction and mental health needs, the Thorpe Recovery Centre is a non-profit organization that provides a wide array of treatment options for individuals and families impacted by addiction.
