TiE Detroit is the Detroit Chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs based in Farmington Hills, MI. TiE Detroit is a not-for-profit organization maintaining a clear focus on the values and philosophies of TiE Global Organization. The organization represents a diverse set of industries, including information technology, manufacturing, healthcare, financial services and other emerging markets. The concept of TiE was born in 1992 in Silicon Valley by a group of successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and senior professionals with roots in the Indus region. The idea originated with the objective of sharing and giving back to society. Over time, TiE has come to represent “Talent, Ideas and Enterprise” through its activities and influences. TiE provides positive leadership role models. It has the largest pool of intellectual capital anywhere. TiE is globally synonymous with entrepreneurship and has significant involvement in social entrepreneurship. TiE maintains high ethical standards and pursues a modern, scientific, and forward-looking approach. There are currently over 13,000 members and more than 2.500 charter members in 61 chapters across 18 countries.
