Trax Foundation is a nonprofit organization (pending 501c3 status).The mission of Trax is to increase the accessibility and advance the technology of assistive robotics. Assistive robotics are devices that help a person with limited mobility (i.e. paralysis) regain movement. Assistive robotics include: powered limbs, exoskeletal walking robots and powered prosthetics. Currently assistive robotic technology is still very costly and out of reach for many people who could benefit from its use. Trax will fulfill its mission through the three core elements of the organization: Trax Crowd funding & Community Website: The crowd funding model will allow participants to fundraise through their own networks of friends & family in addition to accessing millions of interested parties on the internet.   Trax-mobiles: Trax vans will bring assistive robotics out into the world so that people aren’t limited to using the technology in clinics and hospitals. With Trax-mobiles, people will be able to use the robotics where and when they need them.   Trax Walk Shop: A home base where people can test and use assistive robotics in a safe and friendly environment. Engineers will be available to make quick adjustments to the devices, for the best possible user experience. User experience and insights will also be collected and fed back to developers to promote user-driven design.
