Twinkle Education Consultant Overview

As of November 2022, my role as Freelance Education Consultant has taken a very different direction from the previous 6 years in wellbeing & learning! I am now very proud to have joined the team of fellow freelance consultants at a London-based UK charity specialising in independent, unbiased & expert Financial Wellbeing & Education for people of all ages. My role is with the Young People team, delivering workshops in Financial Capability to pupils of secondary school age across Birmingham & the West Midlands. Booking requests are sent to me from Head Office and I then liaise directly with the nominated staff member from the school to co-ordinate delivery. We have a workshop guide & I can assist schools in selecting the most relevant sessions to complement their themed days/weeks or off-timetable days. I can deliver a single workshop in a day, or more over a morning, afternoon or full day. Some schools book multiple days! We have a range of different workshops for each of the key stages 3, 4 & 5, including really useful modules on post-16 Living Independently and Uni Living. The fantastic news is that for state-funded schools, the workshops are fully funded. The charity is supported by some fantastic donors who, like me, believe in empowering young people to become financially capable & develop good financial habits to be able to stay on top of their money & avoid unmanageable debt. Having been a single mother by choice, who worked part time for most of my career, I have never earned a high salary, but this has never stopped me from achieving the financial goals I set myself & providing a great, action-packed childhood for my now adult son! He has followed in my footsteps & learnt to budget, save & cut his cloth, enabling him to live his best life when he was studying a Liberal Arts degree at Kings College London, still being able to go to all of the music events that he loved, buy vinyl & eat good, healthy, nutritious, home-cooked food!
