Twyst is focused on eliminating self-checkout by migrating the point of sales system directly into the shopping bag. The experience begins with a customer picking up the bag when they enter the retail store. The smart bag holds an inner traditional bag that the customer is using to leave the store with. As the customer shops, they fill the same bag with merchandise and when they are ready to purchase, they simply lift the inner bag out of the smart bag. When the customer separates the inner bag from the smart bag, the transaction process is triggered and customers simply walk out of the store.
