I founded UCHANGE Inc. in January 2011. After graduating from Weymouth High School in 2008 I knew that I would one day become an Architect. So in the fall of 2008 I walked through the doors of Boston Architectural College sure that in a few years I would walk out the same doors with a degree. My father was a Union guy.(550) I was the second of four kids and as you probably already know, MA isn't the cheapest state to raise a family in. This became my reality. It was impossible to pay the bills and the high cost of tuition. So after one semester I walked out the same doors sure that I would be back. Just had to make a few dollars to pay for school myself. I got a job in the financial industry. We specialized in financial analysis' and product sales. After a couple of years I was training adults, had a decent car, pretty much made my own schedule and was able to save money. My life changed on one appointment. I sat down with a family who was way behind on their bills. They broke down in tears because they couldn't pay the mortagage never mind send their kid to college. It hit me. This was probably the 1000th appointment just like it. Everyone was in the position my family was in. In my two years there I witnessed billion dollar bailouts, million dollar bonuses to the same people who caused all the problems. At the same times budgets were being cut, schools were being closed, teachers were being laidoff in the hundreds. I decided to build an organization that would change this.
