Empowering Recovery, Embracing Community.
The UCalgary Recovery Community (UCRC) is an inclusive, peer-driven space dedicated to supporting addiction recovery, building community, and reducing stigma on campus. Founded by Dr. Victoria Burns, PhD, RSW, the UCRC is inspired by Collegiate Recovery Communities and the Recovery-Friendly Workplace initiative.
At UCRC, we offer Recovery-4-All peer-support meetings that are open to anyone with direct lived or living experience of addiction, or those curious to explore their relationship with substances or other behaviors. We believe that recovery looks different for everyone, and we support all pathways and stages of recovery, whether through abstinence or harm reduction.
Our mission is to create a supportive and recovery-friendly environment for students, staff, and faculty. We provide resources, events, and a community of peers to help you on your recovery journey. Join us to connect, share, and support each other in a judgment-free space.
