Ucd History Society

Ucd History Society company information, Employees & Contact Information

We are one of UCD’s oldest societies, and have been in existence for over 100 years. Closely linked to the UCD School of History and Archives, the Society organizes many events, including a weekly lecture series, social gatherings, and an annual trip abroad. Throughout the academic year, the society hosts lectures for its members on a range of historical topics. Speakers include academics from UCD, as well as guests from other universities and institutions. These talks generally take place in K114 in the Newman Building at 6pm on Monday evenings, and are always followed by a Firehouse Pizza & wine reception next door in K115. In addition to our lecture series, the society also organizes a number of social events, including historical movie screenings, game nights, and nights out into Dublin City on which members visit historically significant pubs in Dublin, and an annual, subsidized trip overseas that gives members the opportunity to visit and experience some key historical sites from Europe's past, and of course, to make lots of new friends! We pride ourselves on hosting the most affordable (and most fun!) society trip abroad, and promise to keep that up over the coming years. You can contact us at history.society@ucd.ie
