It's a complex question! What initial actions will yield the most beneficial impact on cost reduction and reliability for your pump and gearbox? Have you engaged with end-users who have actively managed the MRO-loop and observed its effect on the “MCR-index” (Maintenance Cost and Reliability Index, ranging from min 0.1 to max 50)? These end-users have reported increased reliability and decreased maintenance costs. I had the opportunity to be on-site, witnessing failure modes, discussing and gathering information on the implemented Management of Change (MOC) processes. I created a PowerPoint / Training presentation detailing these failures, the implemented solutions, and how their strategies effectively reduced maintenance costs by breaking free from the MRO-loop.
