UKCRC Tissue Directory and Coordination Centre Overview

We are the UK's National Biobanking Centre, and through a collaborative effort provide leadership and support to UK Biobanks. To facilitate the need to be able to find samples for research, the Centre has created a Tissue Directory which will hold the information for collections across the UK. Our aim is to improve the use of tissue samples by making them visible to researchers who perform high quality research. It is anticipated that in the future funders will require that samples are listed in the directory. The Centre is a collaboration between University College London and the University of Nottingham’s Advanced Data Analysis Centre and was set up by the UK Clinical Research Collaboration (UKCRC) Experimental Medicine Funders Group in achieving their Vision for Human Tissue Resources.
