Our mission is to be one of Europe’s most effective Ukrainian relief efforts, and provide maximum impact for every item and every penny donated.
Ukraine Relief provide support, aid, and assistance to the people of Ukraine.
At Ukraine Relief UK our dedicated crew of volunteers work tirelessly to accept a wide
range of donated items, including clothing, bedding, food, hospital supplies, toiletries, toys, etc, plus
direct financial contributions. We have had 180 volunteers; 50 are currently active. These volunteers
pack donations into boxes, which are loaded on to pallets for onward transportation to Ukraine. We
have another 20 volunteers in Poland and Ukraine. For over a year now, every week a truckload of
around 24 pallets of relief has been sent to Ukraine. Our excellence has been recognized nationally.
In 2022 Castlepoint Shopping Centre received a Sceptre Award for its support of Ukraine Relief
Bournemouth. It won both the Community Initiative of the Year award for the South region, and it
was also crowned the Best Community Initiative of the Year Nationwide for 2022. In addition, our
founder, Karol Swiacki, won the BBC Make a Difference Volunteer Award in October 2022.
In response to the Russians targeting of civilian infrastructure, we have been able to provide over
260 generators. For the injured and ill, we have sent 1,800 wheelchairs and Zimmer frames, 1200
mattresses, 100 medical beds, 15,000 duvets, plus hospital computers and other diverse medical
equipment. In response to an appeal from a Kyiv hospital, we were able to forward a number
mobility scooters. We have provided £300,000 of studio equipment for the Ukrainian Film Academy
to support Ukrainian filmmakers during the war. We have sent £150,000 worth of equipment for fire
brigades. We have spent over £200,000 in fuel for around 330 trucks and vans to deliver over
£13,000,000 worth of aid.
