Het UMCG Centrum voor Revalidatie helpt volwassenen en kinderen met een lichamelijke handicap of chronische ziekte zo zelfstandig mogelijk deel te nemen aan de maatschappij. Het is het enige academische revalidatiecentrum in Nederland. Patiënten komen uit heel Nederland maar vooral uit de 4 noordelijke provincies. Twee locaties Het UMCG Centrum voor Revalidatie heeft twee locaties. Revalidatiegeneeskunde op de polikliniek Vorm en Bewegen in het UMCG en één in Haren, behandelcentrum Beatrixoord. Op de polikliniek ligt de nadruk op diagnostiek en kortdurende behandeling. Op deze locatie kan de patient terecht voor meer dan 15 verschillende spreekuren op verschillende gebieden. Voor de spreekuren werken meer dan 10 verschillende medische specialismen samen. Op locatie Beatrixoord vinden de medisch specialistische revalidatiebehandelingen plaats, zowel klinisch als poliklinisch. Het UMCG Centrum voor Revalidatie heeft 120 bedden voor klinische patiënten. Tijdens de behandeling krijgt de patiënt begeleiding op medisch, lichamelijk, psychosociaal en arbeidskundig terrein.
