The purpose of the Muslim Students’ Association when it was first founded at UMD in 1969 was to provide a space for the Muslim students on campus to pray. Over the years, the mission of the MSA has evolved from simply providing a prayer space to becoming a home away from home, a community for us to return to, one that unites us while encouraging positivity and well being. The MSA strives to help foster the personal growth of each and every individual.
The Muslim Students’ Association provides educational, cultural, and social programs for the diverse community at the University of Maryland. We strive to strengthen the student body by contributing to their physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being through various programming, such as food for religious observances, and a focus on the Muslim community.
