Umma Volunteer Project

Umma Volunteer Project company information, Employees & Contact Information

UMMA Volunteer Project (UVP) was created in 1996 as a volunteer source for the University Muslim Medical Association (UMMA), a non-profit health clinic established in 1992 by UCLA graduate and undergraduate students. The UMMA Community Clinic serves residents of South Los Angeles who lack proper access to health insurance, suffer from unemployment or are living below the poverty line by providing them with free health care services. UVP provides invaluable service to UMMA Community Clinic by providing a consistent group of UCLA volunteers and also acts a volunteer channel for the surrounding Los Angeles community. In addition to working with the UMMA Clinic, UVP also works with the 68th St. Elementary School and ISLAH LA (Transportation is provided for volunteers to these sites). Besides its weekly sites, UVP also provides service to various other events in the community such as health fairs, annual Tax Day, the Reach Out and Read program, and the Family Hike day.
