Unbroken Dreams, Inc. Overview

Unbroken Dreams was established to help less fortunate people develop self-esteem and rebuild their lives by restoring the participant as a responsible member of the community. We provide the necessary housing assistance, education, employment opportunities, and life skills training for people experiencing homelessness and people previously incarcerated as they move from dependent to self-sufficient lifestyles. A dream, according to Webster’s Dictionary, is a cherished aspiration, ambition, or ideal. It is something that a person not only hopes for but is taking steps to make it a reality. When people have stumbled upon rough times, i.e. homelessness or incarceration, their dreams tend to be forgotten. They tend to be something that are believed to be no longer achievable. Unbroken Dreams believes that these dreams are indeed attainable and, with some effort, they can be reached; they can be Unbroken Dreams. We have developed a program based on the premise that these dreams will someday become a reality. Our Dream Bag Program distributes bags contain items that would be useful for someone who does not have much, such as toothbrushes, soap, deodorant, blankets, socks, and other items. Our Life Skills Dream Program teaches participants the skills necessary to become a self-sufficient individual in our society. Our Education and Training Dream Program allows our participants to choose between attending college or learning a valuable trade, such as plumbing, electrical, welding, or landscaping. Our Dreaming of a Place to Call Home Program assists participants with a permanent place to call home. We believe that people have a difficult time integrating into society after incarceration or trauma if they do not have the fundamentals of life: a home, a job, and a feeling of community. Our goal is to empower our users to self-sufficiency by providing a program that will provide the necessary tools to assist them in their journey.
