UniGEN is an LGBTIQ community-based grassroots organization in Ho Chi Minh City. UniGEN’s vision is to promote inclusivity and diversity both inside and outside the LGBTIQ community.
Since 2015, UniGEN has organized and developed multiple projects to break down stereotypes about the LGBTIQ community, raise visibility and awareness of minority groups, promote freedom of love and pride of self.
Our values include: Embrace the Diversity – Tolerate & Empathize – Leave no one behind. With these core values, we are focusing on 4 main projects: Pride-coustic - series of events to create safe spaces and promote self-love, inclusivity through music material; Human of Pride - started as a social campaign but very soon, it influences the community with stories of queer people associated with art material; DragGEN Party - safe spaces for marginalized groups within LGBTIQ community to break the gender norms and challenge stereotypes with Vietnamese drag culture; NYNO - a project for males love males community, using feminism angles to address gender inequality within the LGBTIQ.
