About Global Disability Fund

The United Nations Global Disability Fund (GDF) -formerly the United Nations Partnership on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNPRPD)- is a global multi-partner fund established to accelerate the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). Established in 2012, GDF connects UN entities, governments, organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs) and broader civil society to achieve sustainable, systemic disability inclusion. GDF funds and coordinates collective action to deliver disability inclusion at scale through country-led solutions, fostering inclusive and resilient communities. The Fund operates through a Multi-Partner Trust Fund (MPTF) established to channel resources for participating UN organizations (PUNOs). Other GDF partners include the International Disability Alliance (IDA) and the International Disability and Development Consortium (IDDC), each with a permanent seat in the governing bodies.
