Who are We? The Women in Computer Science Organization at the University of Oregon is a student run group that strives to create a supportive community for minorities in computer science. We want to make sure that everyone who majors in CIS, or any student who takes a computer science course at the UO, has the confidence to succeed, the tools and support to do so, and know that they belong in the classroom.
WiCS creates a strong support network across students of all ages and all majors. This support network helps to inspire confidence in our members and creates lasting friendships from the classroom and beyond. In addition, WiCS actively works to make the computer science program more inclusive towards all groups for current and future students at the UO.
All students with an interest in computer science are welcome to join WiCS! We have members of all different majors, backgrounds and ages. Even if you're just taking a computer science class for fun, you'll fit right in!
